The nation's capital attracts a robust number of visitors every year, given this thriving city's excellent offerings for tourists. The number of museums, events, sights and attractions is seemingly endless. Washington, D.C., is home to some of the world's foremost museums, such as the Smithsonian Institute's vast collection. Here, visitors also can see world-famous sights such as the White House, the U.S. Capitol Building and the National Mall.

Washington, D.C., is an excellent place for singles, couples and families. There are many things that all types of people here will enjoy - from world-class art to farmer's markets and from national historic sites to hip nightclubs. The city also has an accessible and affordable public transportation system, called the Metro, that makes getting around a breeze.

Top Washington, D.C, Events & Attractions
There are numerous places that people consider "must see" spots in Washington, D.C. Some of the absolute tops are the White House, the National Mall, the National Zoo, the Art and Space Museum and the National Museum of Natural History. However, this is just a mere scratching of the surface for the offerings this powerful city delivers.

Many visitors will enjoy the fact that many of the best attractions here are open to the public free of charge. But a good thing to remember is that while the visit is free, many tourist attractions require advance reservations and tickets. It can take time to book tickets for attractions and to select the right place for you out of the vast number of Washington, D.C., hotels. Do plan ahead to ensure a fun and enjoyable trip.

Diverse Dining & Nightlife Thrive in the Capital City
Washington, D.C., is a city of great diversity. This trait of the area has inspired a rich, diverse and lively scene for dining and nightlife.

Washington, D.C., restaurants span the gamut. You'll find high-end dining spots and cheap eats from food trucks. There are numerous celebrity chefs here, and even hotels have upped the ante with their cuisine. This is a city of many flavors, and it is sure to cause great rejoice from foodies. There's also are number of amazing ethnic restaurants in the city that dish up some of the very best that Washington, D.C., has to offer. These include Ethiopian food in Little Ethiopia and Chinese food in Chinatown.

The nightlife scene here also is quite diverse and caters to a wide variety of people and tastes. You will find sophisticated wine bars and upscale spots near downtown frequented by powerful movers and shakers and pubs that have a more college feel in Georgetown. Other hotspots include the gay clubs of Dupont Circle and jazz clubs in the Shaw area.

Move to Washington, D.C
Beyond just tourism, Washington, D.C., and the surrounding areas are exceptional places to call home. This area of the country is one of the biggest metro areas in the nation for good reason. Employment opportunities are abundant with jobs in both the private and the public sector. The climate offers four seasons, and the weather here is considered mild when compared to other places.

Residents of this area enjoy a number of things to do, including annual events like the White House Easter Egg Roll and the National Cherry Blossom Festival. Washington, D.C., real estate is gaining ground as more people relocate here. In fact, national statistics show population growth is on the rise. The area also has a rich diversity of people. It also offers numerous higher education choices at highly regarded schools, such as Georgetown, American University, Howard University and George Washington University.
